This is what the Lord says:
“Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths,
Where the good way is, and walk in it;
Then you will find a resting place for your souls.

Jeremiah 6:16

Uncharted Waters

This site stemmed from my conviction that Catholic faithful were being steered towards unchartered waters, departing from what the Holy Scriptures and our own Catechism tell us. The upheaval of the Catholic summer of shame in 2018, when the clergy scandal came out, leading to priests, Bishops, Cardinals, and Rome, awakened me to our dilemma and spurned me to investigate through all the resources I could find.

I discovered that the attack against the Church is shockingly comparable to the scandal of the corrupt church—the Church of Thyatira—in Rev. 2:18. Although evil is infiltrating the good foundations of our Church in our times, the Lord’s instruction to the faithful, “Hold fast and overcome!” still stands for us until His return!

Choppy Waters

Since 2018, observing Catholics have realized that the summer of shame scandal was only the tip of the iceberg. (See the post How OR Catholics Began.) There are faithful Catholics on social media with good commentary, articles, and videos to help us navigate our faith’s choppy waters. I often have and will continue to share their input. Yet even among the faithful resources, there are age-old differences over theology and Catholic doctrines—past and present.

What’s a Pew Sitter to Do?

I stepped back from the uncharted and choppy Catholic waters for a season to work on a project that included delving deep into the Gospels and learning what Jesus says and what he directs us to do in his native Hebrew tongue. (The language of the Bible before the New Testament, and indeed what He and the Apostles read and referred to in the Gospels.) Our Father God’s word never varies; in truth, neither does the ancient path our early church set out on. St. Paul tells us in Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever.”

Relativism, modernism, humanism, perversion, and satanism trying to overcome Jesus’ faithful, observant remnant Church cannot defeat us if we choose to stand fast. Therefore, we must observe when and where the wiles of the enemy of our souls reveal themselves in false teaching and sacrilegious movements, stand firm against them, and overcome evil with good. We know we can. The words to the ancient Church of Thyatira include instructions! (Revelation 2:18-29)

ORCatholics.com (ORCatholic.blog) encourages Catholics like myself who realize we’re in the midst of a battle for our souls and the soul of our Church. I’ve updated the site and limited the categories to make it easier for visitors to find the topics or information they want.

You are welcome here!

God bless you always,

Nancy M.
